Hi! I’m Sarah! Nice to meet you!

I’ve been sewing since I was about 10 years old, but sewing had been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember!

I have been incredibly lucky to have had some really amazing mentors and teachers pass along their specialized skills and knowledge throughout my life. I have experience with flat pattern drafting, the French moulage drafting method, and of course, multiple construction techniques!

Now, I primarily sew vintage-inspired clothing in fun novelty prints, but this wasn’t always the case! I learned to sew in order to create fantastical costumes, and I still dabble in fantasy and historical costumes as the mood strikes me. I grew up watching musicals from the 1940’s and 1950’s, so I think in some ways it was inevitable that I would eventually find my way to a mid-century aesthetic!

I’ve never been accused of being subtle, and I’ve always been a maximalist at heart. I love styling as much (or more!) as design and sewing, and am passionate about creating outfits that make people smile.

When I’m not sewing, I’m spending time with my husband and two cats, soaking up the California sunshine, and helping folks get IT support (as well as asking them to turn it off and on again before I book their appointment).

Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life.”
